According to Australia authority, there is going to be a new part 2 AS/NZS3823.2:2009,  to be published soon. New MEPS requirements: 2010MEPS then 2011 MEPS follows by 2012 MEPS.  The determination of MEPS as from 2011 will be quite different - base on annual EER and COP which take into consideration of the non-operation energy consumption. Minimum of 0.85 power factor will be required and demand response will be introduced by 2012.
